Well we’re a week off and about 6 months behind in regards to keeping up with our posts, but it’s that time of year again when about a million Australian musicians and music industry types head over to be part of the music industry clusterfuck that is South by Southwest. And this also means that Stage Mothers will be putting on a couple of BBQs to support the Australian bands who have broken open their piggy banks to get there.

The first BBQ of 2013 will be LA at The Echo on Sunday 10th March from 1.00pm featuring Ginger & The Ghost, Bearhug, The Falls, Georgia Fair, The Beards, jack Carty, The Trouble With Templeton, Blackchords and FAKER who will be playing tracks off their BRAND NEW UNRELEASED RECORD!!!

That’s right folks in what can only be called a logistical coup Stage Mothers have secured the recently relocated FAKER to play a bunch of new tracks that from what I understand only the band have heard.

I’m excited!!!

The Aussie BBQ returns for the third consecutive year at London’s Cargo in Shoreditch. A great day of live music featuring great emerging talent (many in the country at the invitation of the Great Escape and Liverpool Sound City music conferences):

When I saw Anthony post SXSW he had not been to bed for a couple of days and looked pretty deathly but that’s when I reminded him to come down to the BBQ at The Bell House.

As fate would have it a couple of bands couldn’t make it for various reasons so this allowed me to give Anthony a quick spot before Traveller And Fortune. As a left handed player he played his first song on a right handed guitar before Alexander from Oh Mercy (also a lefty) gave lend of his guitar.
