So every year it comes to the last minute before we’re about to leave for SXSW and then i say to myself, “shit, I should do something about the website”. So I call up my mate Shaan from ChillyBin and say “Mate I’m sending you through a bunch of pictures can you turn them into a functioning web site?” He usually replies yes while in the same breathe saying why can’t you just use a simple template like everyone else?. I shrug my shoulders, say thanks mate please don’t charge me a bomb and go for coffee.
If you’ve got this far you’ve obviously seen the new and improved site. Normal shit like blog posts, interviews, photos from the shows and sponsor links that help pay for things will all be there for you to use instead of doing actual work.
Two new functions that are going to evolve over the course of the year are the gig guide and the recommends. The gig guide will show you where Australian bands are playing all over the world except Australia (plenty of places for that already) and the recommends function is a place where we’ll help Australian bands find a good and reliable overseas contacts and for overseas acts we’ll hook you up with some great Australian contacts like local tour managers, sound guys, accommodation, venue contacts etc etc. If you think you need it then we’ll help you find it.
As for the blog posts we’ll have people from all over the world contributing telling us all about what’s happening with Australian music in their part of town.
