CITY RIOTS SURVIVE HARDCORE RIOTS & CAR JACKING IN THE NAME OF ROCK!
City Riots have gone from (r)Adelaide to a bunch of cities across the States surviving hardcore bar brawls and carjackings along the way. Ricky from the band sent me this update including this cute little pic of the band snow out of their hotel room.

CITY RIOTS SNOWED OUT OF HOTEL
So far we (City Riots) haven’t found ourselves resorting to sleeping under cars like on past tours but we have managed to lose a snare drum on Route 15 after the rear doors of the van swung open at 55 miles per hour. We thought things were looking up with a couple of packed shows under our belt until last Saturday night’s show in Warrenton, Virginia was cancelled due to a fight breaking out in the crowd at a hardcore show we were somehow convinced to play. Luckily the police came to rescue our skinny-legged, white boy arses. Unfortunately no video crew was with them so I am assuming we didn’t get to feature in an episode of Cops this time around. I think it’s fair to say we were quietly thankful that the show didn’t go ahead. I’m not convinced the synths would have gone down well with all the tattoos and Hatebreed T-shirts. Dan did say he had my back, but I’m pretty sure he was hiding in the van when this went down.
Today we are on our way back through the snowy mountains of Pennsylvania after playing Pittsburgh last night. It wasn’t the most welcoming town we have ever visited. Apparently the local community are not huge fans of indie rock….. or leather jackets…. or any visitors to the neighborhood in general. When we were instructed by the club not to stand outside alone, we thought better of attempting to get that feature in an episode of Cops and high-tailed out of there right after we played, running the majority of red lights for fear of being carjacked. On the upside though, Matt did see his first shotgun.
We drove our 21-year-old Dodge Ram 22 hours straight in order to get to Houston in time to catch a morning flight to Los Angeles to play the Aussie BBQ at The Echo, but we made it played it and are now in Austin soaking up all that is SXSW.
