PAUL DEMPSEY BBQS IN MELBOURNE, CASSETTE KIDS AND TOBY MARTIN ADDED TO THE SYDNEY BBQ AND RØDE MICROPHONES JOIN THE PARTY.

paul dempseyCassetteKidsRight on people listen up. This Tuesday 23rd February (yes in two sleeps) sees the first ever localised version of The Aussie BBQ at The Corner Hotel in Melbourne and have a guess who’s joining the already impressive bill before his US tour?? It’s bloody Paul Dempsey! I realise some people had caught wind of this earlier but this is officially the official announcement.

The Sydney version of The Aussie BBQ takes place at the Annandale on Tuesday 2nd March and joining the bill that already includes The Goldhearted (which I play in so worth it for that alone), Goons Of Doom, Sherlock’s Daughter and Adelaide’s City Riots will be indie dance rockers Cassette Kids who are on the cusp of releasing their debut record and Youth Group’s wordsmith Toby Martin who’ll be playing a very special solo set while the band prepare for their next record.

In other inspirational news, coming along for the party as a new sponsor are RØDE Microphones an Australian owned and run company that knows all about breaking in the States and supporting Australian artists.

Scott Emerton says said while suffering from a nasty cold “RØDE Microphones is extremely proud to be associated with the Aussie BBQ at SXSW this year. The Aussie BBQ is the perfect partner to continue RØDE’s heritage of fostering and supporting independent and emerging talent.”

If in Melbourne don’t forget about SLAM Rally and come to the Corner straight after. S.L.A.M. rally starts at the State Library (328 Swanston Sts) at 4pm and finishes at Parliament House (top of Bourke St) To get to the Corner take the train from Parliament Station to Richmond Station from Platform 2, it’s one stop.
