I’ve branched out and started posting something other than things directly relating to our Aussie BBQ shows.
This week I got sent this mix tape from Australia’s #1 Battle MC 360. He’s moved away from that scene a bit and in the lead up to a debut record “Flying And Falling” has put out this sweet mix tape/download.
The Please Be Seated mixtape features his original electro-infused-Aussie-hip-hop take on tracks by MGMT, Justice, Lisa Mitchell, Broken Bells, Tinie Tempah, B.o.B, and Ellie Goulding. Who would have predicted that Lisa Mitchell’s Coin Laundry could be mixed into a scathing (though ultimately foot-tappingly-addictive) critique on treatment of war veterans and homelessness!?

Check it out for yourself before it gets taken down here 360music.com.au
Tracklisting is below:
- Electric Feel – 360 x Justice x MGMT
- Do You Have A Dollar? (Coin Laundry) – 360 x Lisa Mitchell
- The Ghost Inside ft Pez – 360 x Broken Bells
- Starry Eyed – 360 x Ellie Goulding x Jakwob
- Pass Out – 360 x Tinie Tempah
- Nothing To Lose – 360 x B.o.B
You should also follow 360 on twitter if you’re that way inclined because he is one of the funniest dudes I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. He can also be found on Ustream from time to time working on tracks for the album with his main man Stylaz Fuego.
Enjoy the joy and happy ANZAC day to all the diggers both past and present.

ARGENTINA: Zonaindie
Ivana Berenstein – Ahora
The songs of young singer-songwriter Ivana Berenstein follow certain traditions from Argentine folk music, bossa nova and bolero, but add modern textures and harmonies to it. Ahora is the first single from her debut album No Te Duermas and has Coiffeur (check out MAP December 2009) as a guest vocalist.

While battling the massive time-suck that is Facebook, I stumbled across the group ‘Glenn’s Guide To Brisbane Nightlife’. I’m sure it was created as some sort of pisstake or in-joke, but it’s an outlet for a guy called Glenn Stewart to vent his opinions and frustrations regarding Brisbane pubs, clubs and live music venues. Here [...]
